It was 20 years ago today that Bandai, Japan's premier toy-maker, introduced the world to the super-cute alien pets called Tamagotchi. So it's appropriate that the new wave of the baby-like characters and their egg-shaped containers would return for their 20th birthday with more features than ever as the Tamagotchi M!x (or "mix").

There are two versions (Melody and Spacy) and three colors (pink, purple and blue). The fun though starts with the inside and this is where the "mix" concept kicks in: you can mix 27 characters to come up with different "children". The more you mix, you more characters you create! Plus there are actually many more since there are also "stations" (only in Japan) where other mixing options are available. And of course, there are the exchange options where your Tamagotchi M!x interacts with your friend's when you bring them together!
